A stable home is the foundation for everything else.
When you are worried about where you will live, it is hard to focus on health, work, school, or savings. Our housing counseling program helps individuals and families obtain, keep, or improve stable housing. We start where you are. For some people that means securing a rental first. For others it means getting ready to buy a home. Along the way, we connect you with resources and referrals and help you find your way through the assistance programs available to you.

How housing counseling works.
- We start by getting to know you Your first meeting is a conversation about your background, your goals, what is getting in the way, and who is in your household.
- Sessions that fit your life Meet one on one, or join a group session on money and financial literacy. Sessions can be in person, online, or by phone.
- A few sessions, at your pace Most people meet 3 to 10 times, and some meet more. Each session lasts 30 to 60 minutes, depending on what you need and how ready you are.
- Toward a stable home The goal is a stable home. We help through LCF's own services, and we connect you with partner organizations when they are a better fit.
What we can help you with.
Every session starts with your situation. These are the areas we cover most often.
