Public Health program

Youth sports with health and family wellness built in.

Healthy Futures is a youth sports and health program. Flag football is our main sport, and basketball runs in the winter. It is more than a season of sports: the whole family is part of the team.

  • Pre-K to 8th grade
  • Harrisburg
  • Basketball from mid to late February; flag football from mid to late April, weather permitting
About Healthy Futures

A sports season that also builds healthy habits.

Children come for the game. Around every practice and game, we add short lessons on nutrition, movement, sleep, and handling stress, and we invite families to take part. The goal is healthy habits that last well beyond the season.

The sports

Flag football first, and basketball too.

Flag football is non-contact, so it is a safe way for boys and girls of every skill level to learn the game. Everyone plays. Teams practice and play each week, coached by trained volunteers. Basketball starts in mid to late February and flag football in mid to late April, weather permitting.

Harrisburg

More than a season of sports.

Every player in Healthy Futures takes part in health and wellness activities during practices, games, and team events.

  3. Feeling good

Activities that build confidence and help children manage stress and get along with others.

  4. Staying healthy

  5. Teamwork and leadership
