Purpose

Latino Connection Foundation, Inc. is seeking proposals from qualified attorneys or law firms based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, to provide legal representation to our Board of Directors. The selected counsel will serve the Foundation in compliance, contract review, and general counsel matters, supporting strong governance and regulatory adherence. Representation will be for the Foundation as a whole, not for individual projects such as affordable housing initiatives.

Scope of Services

  • Advise the Board and leadership on nonprofit governance, compliance with state and federal regulations, and general legal matters.

  • Review contracts, agreements, and policies to ensure legal soundness and protect the Foundation’s interests.

  • Attend Board meetings, which are primarily held via video conference, with occasional in-person meetings in Harrisburg as needed.

  • Be available for frequent consultation with Board members and Foundation leadership, both virtually and in person as circumstances require.

  • Guide on matters related to nonprofit operations only.

Expected Commitment

  • The initial onboarding period will require a more intensive timetable over the first few weeks.

  • After onboarding, the ongoing need is expected to be less than 2 hours per week, not including time spent attending Board meetings.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience representing nonprofit organizations, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked with foundations and charitable entities.

  • Proven expertise in nonprofit law, compliance, and governance.

  • Experience advising on housing projects or community development is highly desirable.

  • Ability to participate in virtual meetings and attend in-person meetings in Harrisburg as needed.

  • Commitment to responsive and proactive communication with the Board and leadership.

Proposal Requirements

Please submit the following by the deadline:

  • A cover letter describing your interest and qualifications.

  • A summary of prior work with nonprofit organizations, including specific experience with housing or community development projects.

  • Three professional references from nonprofit clients.

  • A statement regarding whether you are able and willing to provide services on a pro bono basis.

  • Confirmation of your availability for virtual and in-person Board meetings, and for ongoing consultation as described above.

Selection Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Relevant experience and expertise

  • References and reputation in the nonprofit sector

  • Understanding of the Foundation’s mission and needs

  • Proximity and availability for both virtual and in-person engagement

  • Fee structure or willingness to provide pro bono services

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to participate in an interview conducted over video call prior to final selection.

Please submit your proposal by email to htidwell@wearelcf.org no later than noon on June 27, 2025.

Late submissions will not be considered.

We look forward to receiving your proposal and partnering to advance the mission of the Latino Connection Foundation, Inc.
